1. Who we are
ALTABRIG Tools is provided by SIA “ALTABRIG”, registration number 40203471961, legal address Robežu iela 27, Aizpute, Dienvidkurzemes novads, LV-3456, Latvia (“ALTABRIG”, “we”, “us” or “our”).
You can contact us at support@altabrig.com or through the Contact page at /contact.
2. Scope and acceptance
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of altabrig.com, ALTABRIG Tools, our accounts, subscriptions and all modules, features and outputs made available through the service (together, the “Service”).
By creating an account, expressly accepting these Terms, purchasing a plan or paid job, or using the Service after you have been presented with these Terms, you enter into a binding agreement with ALTABRIG.
You must also read our Privacy Policy. The Privacy Policy explains how personal data is processed; it is not a substitute for these Terms and is not a blanket consent to every type of processing.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
4. The Service
ALTABRIG Tools is a modular digital-document service. The currently enabled modules are:
- Compress PDF;
- PDF Workspace;
- Create Fillable PDF;
- Enhance PDF;
- Anonymize & Redact;
- Extract Data;
- Resize Image;
- Compress Image;
- Convert Image;
- Office Metadata;
- Document Compare;
- Document to Markdown;
- Transcribe.
The modules may process PDF files, office documents, images, spreadsheets, presentations, audio, video, transcripts, document metadata, OCR text and structured extraction or review data, depending on the tool you choose. Some processing occurs in your browser and some occurs on ALTABRIG-controlled server components. The accepted document and image tools described in the Privacy Policy use ALTABRIG-controlled or local processing components; Transcribe may use an external artificial-intelligence provider as separately disclosed in the Privacy Policy.
We may improve, replace, add, limit or discontinue features. We will not use this clause to remove paid core functionality in a manner that violates mandatory consumer law. Material changes to a paid service will be communicated where required.
5. Accounts and security
You are responsible for:
- providing accurate account information;
- protecting your credentials and devices;
- activities performed through your account;
- promptly notifying us of suspected unauthorised access;
- ensuring that each person using the Service has appropriate authority.
You must not share a personal account in a way that bypasses plan, security or usage controls. Team or workspace access, where available, must use the Service’s authorised membership features.
We may require security verification, password reset, reauthentication or other proportionate measures to protect accounts and the Service.
6. Plans, limits and fair use
The Service may offer Guest, Registered Free, Pro, Pro Plus, paid one-off work or other plans shown in the Service. The current features, prices, file sizes, job limits, usage periods, concurrency limits and other entitlements are those displayed on the Pricing, checkout, account and module interfaces at the time of purchase or use.
Usage limits exist to maintain security, cost control and fair access. You must not circumvent limits, split activity artificially, use automated account creation, share credentials, or interfere with metering or enforcement.
We may temporarily restrict exceptional usage that threatens security, availability or fair access. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
7. Payment and renewal
The paid subscription begins when checkout is completed and the displayed fee is charged using the selected payment method. Subscriptions renew for the billing period shown at checkout until cancelled.
Prices, currency, taxes and billing intervals are shown before you confirm payment. Taxes may be added where required by law. Payment processing is provided by Stripe or another payment provider disclosed before payment. ALTABRIG does not require your full card number to be stored in the ALTABRIG application database.
You are responsible for keeping billing information current. Failed payment may result in restricted access, suspension or cancellation after proportionate attempts to notify you.
8. Cancellation
You may cancel a subscription through the available billing portal or by contacting support if the portal is unavailable.
Unless the Service or mandatory law states otherwise, cancellation prevents the next renewal and paid access continues until the end of the current paid period. Deleting the core account may end account access, but it does not currently guarantee deletion from every module store or from browser storage on your devices.
Cancellation is different from the statutory right of withdrawal described below.
9. Consumer withdrawal rights
If you are a consumer in the European Economic Area or another jurisdiction that grants a statutory withdrawal right, you may have the right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days without giving a reason, subject to applicable exceptions.
If you expressly request that ALTABRIG begin providing a service during the withdrawal period and you later withdraw, you may be required to pay a proportionate amount for the service supplied before withdrawal where the law permits.
For digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, the withdrawal right may be lost once supply begins if you gave prior express consent, acknowledged the loss of the right, and received the required confirmation.
Withdrawal rights apply according to the information presented at checkout and applicable law. These Terms do not state that the current checkout separately records a request for immediate performance or an acknowledgement of the loss of a withdrawal right. Nothing in these Terms removes rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
To exercise a withdrawal right, use the online withdrawal function at /withdrawal or contact support@altabrig.com with sufficient information to identify the contract. The online function presents the notice details for review, and final submission requires an explicit confirmation step. After successful submission, ALTABRIG promptly sends an email confirmation on a durable medium containing the notice details and the submission date and time.
10. Refunds
Fees are not automatically refundable merely because you did not use the Service or forgot to cancel. Refunds will be provided where required by mandatory law, where ALTABRIG confirms an incorrect charge, or where we expressly approve a refund in the circumstances.
If a digital service is not supplied or does not conform to the contract, consumers may have statutory rights to correction, price reduction, termination or reimbursement. These rights are not limited by this section.
11. Your content
“Your Content” means files, audio, video, images, text, transcripts, instructions, metadata and other material that you upload, import, create or submit through the Service.
You retain ownership of Your Content. These Terms do not transfer ownership of Your Content to ALTABRIG.
You grant ALTABRIG a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide licence to host, copy, transmit, transform and otherwise process Your Content only to:
- provide the feature you request;
- generate and deliver outputs;
- secure, troubleshoot and maintain the Service;
- comply with law and enforce these Terms.
The licence ends when the relevant content is deleted, except to the limited extent necessary for legal retention, security or dispute resolution as described in the Privacy Policy.
12. Your responsibilities for content
You confirm that:
- you have the right and lawful basis to upload and process Your Content;
- the processing does not infringe privacy, confidentiality, intellectual-property or other rights;
- you have provided any notices and obtained any permissions required for recordings, transcripts, personal data or confidential documents;
- you will not upload content that is unlawful or that you are prohibited from disclosing;
- you will review outputs before relying on them.
ALTABRIG does not generally pre-screen Your Content and does not assume responsibility for its legality or accuracy.
14. File retention and deletion
Retention differs by module and is explained in the Privacy Policy and relevant module interface.
In summary:
- Compress PDF uses temporary server-side processing and attempts to remove processing files when the requested operation ends, while interrupted content may remain until operational cleanup;
- PDF Workspace may store documents and workspace state locally in your browser until you clear the workspace or the relevant browser/site storage on that device;
- queued document tools may place the request and generated result in access-restricted job storage for the queue lifecycle, after which terminal job files are purged by the configured queue-retention control;
- Create Fillable PDF, Enhance PDF, Anonymize & Redact, Extract Data and Document to Markdown also use isolated temporary working files during local server processing and remove those scratch files on normal terminal paths;
- Resize Image, Compress Image and Convert Image do not use a separate long-term image-content store in the accepted module design, although the global queue lifecycle may temporarily hold a request and result while the job is available;
- Office Metadata and Document Compare server-side content may remain until an available deletion control or operational cleanup removes it;
- Transcribe jobs, transcripts, analytics and processing intermediates may remain until you delete supported content or operational cleanup removes them;
- a period displayed by a module is not a guaranteed deletion deadline unless the current Service expressly states that the period is technically enforced;
- deleting the core account does not currently guarantee deletion from every module store or from another browser or device.
Before deleting an account, separately delete supported module content that you want removed. Browser-only data on another device cannot be remotely erased by deleting the server account, so you must clear the workspace or browser/site storage on each relevant device.
15. Transcribe and AI features
Transcribe may use OpenAI API services for transcription, diarisation, translation, summarisation and related analysis.
Machine-generated transcripts, speaker labels, translations, summaries, topics, action items, metadata and analytics may be inaccurate, incomplete or unsuitable for your purpose. You are responsible for reviewing and correcting outputs before relying on, publishing or acting on them.
ALTABRIG does not provide legal, medical, financial, employment, credit, insurance or other regulated professional advice. Do not use AI outputs as the sole basis for decisions that produce legal or similarly significant effects for a person.
Voice and prosody indicators are limited technical measurements. They must not be interpreted as reliable detection of emotion, personality, honesty, intent, health or mental state.
16. Prohibited use
You must not use the Service to:
- violate law, court orders or third-party rights;
- process content without required authority, notice or consent;
- create, distribute or facilitate malware, fraud, phishing or security attacks;
- exploit or sexualise children or process child sexual abuse material;
- promote terrorism, violent extremism, unlawful violence or targeted hatred;
- harass, threaten, stalk, defame or unlawfully discriminate;
- create deceptive deepfakes or synthetic content intended to defraud or mislead;
- unlawfully identify, profile or surveil individuals;
- infer or claim sensitive traits from voice or documents without a lawful, reliable basis;
- reverse engineer, decompile, scrape or extract source code, models, prompts, weights or security mechanisms except where mandatory law expressly permits;
- train or improve a competing model or service using the Service or outputs in breach of applicable rights;
- bypass security, authentication, RLS, quotas, subscriptions or technical limits;
- overload, disrupt or interfere with the Service;
- access another user’s account, content or output;
- resell or provide unauthorised automated access to the Service.
17. Outputs and third-party rights
You may use outputs generated for you, subject to these Terms, applicable law and third-party rights.
ALTABRIG does not guarantee that an output is unique, non-infringing, legally admissible or suitable for a specific purpose. Similar outputs may be generated for different users. You must verify citations, facts, calculations, metadata, document changes and rights before use.
18. Service availability, maintenance and errors
The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We work to maintain reliable operation but do not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free or permanent availability.
We may conduct maintenance, apply security controls, impose temporary limits or suspend a feature to protect users, data or infrastructure. We will provide reasonable notice of planned material interruptions where practical.
Software, document processing and AI systems may contain bugs or produce unexpected results. Please report issues through /contact.
19. Third-party services
The Service depends on third parties such as payment, authentication, cloud, hosting and AI providers. Their services may be governed by their own terms and privacy notices.
ALTABRIG remains responsible for its own obligations but is not responsible for a third-party service outside ALTABRIG’s reasonable control, except to the extent mandatory law provides otherwise.
Links to third-party sites are provided for convenience and do not imply endorsement.
20. ALTABRIG intellectual property
The Service, software, design, trademarks, logos, documentation and other ALTABRIG materials are owned by or licensed to ALTABRIG and are protected by intellectual-property law.
Subject to these Terms, ALTABRIG grants you a limited, personal or internal-business, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable right to access and use the Service for its intended purpose during the applicable access period.
Except where mandatory law permits, you may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, lease, sublicense, publicly display, reverse engineer or create derivative works from the Service.
No right to use ALTABRIG names, logos or trademarks is granted without written permission.
21. Suspension and termination
We may restrict, suspend or terminate access where reasonably necessary because of:
- material or repeated breach of these Terms;
- unlawful or harmful activity;
- security risk or unauthorised access;
- non-payment;
- circumvention of limits;
- legal or regulatory obligation;
- use that materially threatens the Service or other users.
Where appropriate and lawful, we will provide notice and an opportunity to remedy the issue. Immediate action may be taken for serious security, legal or abuse risks.
You may stop using the Service at any time and may cancel or delete your account through the available controls.
22. Account deletion
Deleting the core account may disable account access, but it does not currently guarantee deletion from every ALTABRIG module store. Before deleting the account, separately delete supported module content that you want removed.
ALTABRIG processes valid deletion requests in accordance with applicable law. Information may be retained where required or permitted for legal, accounting, fraud, security or dispute purposes. Data in backups, where used, may remain until it is overwritten; these Terms do not promise a fixed backup-deletion period.
Browser-only workspace data stored on your devices must be cleared on each device by clearing the relevant workspace or browser/site storage. Deleting the server account cannot remotely erase browser-only data on another device.
Deletion may be irreversible. Export content you need before deletion.
23. Disclaimer of warranties
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Service is provided without warranties beyond those expressly stated and mandatory statutory rights.
We do not warrant that:
- the Service will meet every requirement;
- outputs will be accurate, complete or error-free;
- every file format or document feature will be preserved perfectly;
- the Service will be uninterrupted or immune from every security risk;
- an output will be legally admissible or suitable for a regulated purpose.
Nothing in this section excludes statutory conformity guarantees or other rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
24. Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where exclusion or limitation is prohibited, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence where applicable, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.
Subject to the previous paragraph, ALTABRIG is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, punitive or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, revenue, goodwill, opportunity or data, arising from use of the Service, where such limitation is lawful.
For business users, ALTABRIG’s aggregate liability arising from the Service is limited to the amount paid by the business user to ALTABRIG for the affected Service during the 12 months preceding the event giving rise to the claim, unless mandatory law requires a higher amount.
For consumers, liability is governed by applicable mandatory law and this business-user cap does not reduce non-waivable consumer rights.
You are responsible for maintaining appropriate copies of important source files and for independently reviewing material outputs.
25. Business-user indemnity
If you use the Service for business purposes, you will indemnify ALTABRIG against third-party claims, losses and reasonable costs resulting from your unlawful content, lack of authority, infringement of third-party rights or material breach of these Terms, except to the extent caused by ALTABRIG.
This section does not apply to consumers acting outside a trade or profession.
26. Privacy and data processing
Our Privacy Policy at /privacy explains our processing of personal data, cookies, browser storage, providers, retention, deletion and user rights.
When ALTABRIG processes personal data contained in Your Content solely on behalf of a business customer, the Data Processing Terms in the Privacy Policy apply, unless a separate signed data-processing agreement takes precedence.
27. Complaints and support
Contact support@altabrig.com or use /contact.
Please describe the issue without sending sensitive source content by ordinary email unless we specifically request it through an approved secure method.
Consumers may also contact the competent consumer-protection authority or use any court or out-of-court remedy available under applicable law.
Privacy complaints and rights requests are handled under the Privacy Policy. You may lodge a complaint with the Latvian Data State Inspectorate or another competent supervisory authority.
28. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by Latvian law, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protections and conflict-of-law rules that apply in your country of residence.
Disputes should first be raised with ALTABRIG so that we can try to resolve them. If a dispute cannot be resolved, it may be brought before the competent Latvian court, except that a consumer may use any court or forum available under mandatory consumer law.
29. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect legal, security, operational or Service changes.
The version and effective date are shown at the top. We will provide appropriate notice of material changes. Where required, we will ask you to accept the new version before continued paid use.
Changes do not retroactively remove accrued rights or obligations unless law permits and the change is clearly agreed.
30. General provisions
If a provision is invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective and the invalid provision will be interpreted or replaced to reflect its lawful purpose as closely as possible.
Failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.
You may not transfer this agreement without ALTABRIG’s consent, except where mandatory law permits. ALTABRIG may transfer the agreement as part of a merger, reorganisation, sale or transfer of the Service, subject to applicable law and notice requirements.
These Terms, the Privacy Policy, the displayed order/plan terms and any applicable data-processing agreement form the agreement concerning the Service.
